Prompt #8

            Television has been an issue of debate since its invention. Many people feel television is an unnecessary distraction in our lives. I believe TV is a good source to learn about the outside world, but I think we should watch it once in a while. People sometimes exaggerate the hours that they spend on a couch watching TV. There are other things that can be done apart from the television. Our body gets lazier the more time we spend watching television. We need to get more exercise and focus on other productive activities.
            Television wastes our time keeping us from doing helpful activities. If we don’t control the time we spend on television, then that can bring us severe health problems. TV can make us blind and even obese. Our body needs exercise or else we start gaining weight. That isn’t the worst part, as with more pounds you get the more probability you have of getting diabetes or any other disease. We need to get outdoors more and get fresh air. Later you are obese and are incapable of getting a date. When you grow up you become lonely and usually have a low self esteem. This can even lead to suicide in some cases. The best way to keep away from this problem is to reduce the TV watching hours.
            Also TV usually misleads information. Some news are very bias and don’t announce the complete and objective of a news. They just show and say what they want you to see and hear. Many times television can be dangerous as this can brainwash you into thinking something
they are making you think. Many things on TV are exaggerated and dramatized. It is best to stay away from it. Especially elections they try to implement a candidate so you can vote for him. It is better to get sources online or on the newspaper.
            Television isn’t the best thing to do for a distraction. It is better to be outdoors or doing something productive. Many times TV helps you procrastinate which is not a good thing. Also in the last decades or so there has been an obesity increase because many humans don’t get the exercise they are supposing to do. It is more convenient for your health to stay away from watching TV a lot.
